A delightfully funny slapstick adventure, The Play That Goes Wrong is silly on top of silly. Positioned as an amateur production we are all watching, with the stage manager visible and bits in the preshow to set the scene, the actual performance of this nonstop comedy is quite highly skilled.
Not all of the jokes quite hit - indeed the best moments come from interaction with the Stage Manager character. It does rely on some tropes — notably the female characters getting hurt repeatedly, which could be reconsidered — but overall is a silly and fun good time.
